Meet the Dentist
Meet Dr. Rediske
Dr. Jared V. Rediske is from Eyota, Minnesota. He started his career as a dental assistant in the United States Air Force. He then received his Associate's Degree in Dental Applied Sciences and became a certified dental assistant and certified orthodontic assistant. After the Air Force, he went on to finish his undergraduate requirements so that he could go on to dental school. He attended University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. After graduation, Dr. Rediske moved to Vermont because Brattleboro, VT won his heart. Initially he worked as an associate in a group practice. At the end of 2009 he purchased his own practice in Townshend. He recently opened a second location in Brattleboro to better serve his patients who live in closer proximity.
Dr. Rediske is on the board of the New England Dental Society. He's served on the board of the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont, and he was president of the board for two years. In college Dr. Rediske was part of Delta Lambda Phi, as social fraternity of which he was president. He is one of the founders of the Windham County Dentistry Study Club, as well as a member of both the American Dental Association and Vermont State Dental Association. He's the attending dentist for the Head Start and Early Head Start program for the Windham County area. He's a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks in Brattleboro, and St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
In 2006 Dr. Rediske received the Practice Manager Award from the University of Minnesota. He was named Squadron Airman of the Year in 1998 and Airman Below the Zone in 1999. Dr. Rediske also founded the Well Baby Clinic, serving children between the ages of 1 and 3 years. During the seven years since the program began, they've served over 800 children.
Dr. Rediske's mother and two of his sisters live in Minnesota, and another of his sisters lives in Wisconsin. He's been partnered for six years and has a 23-year-old step-daughter. He also has two dogs, two cats, and four fish tanks ranging from 30 gallons to 170 gallons. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, down-hill skiing, squash, and golf, which he's only recently discovered. He also enjoys cooking and playing with his Doberman Pincher, Athena. On weekends in the summer he enjoys getting out his father's 1957 Ford Thunderbird and going for long drives.
Dr. Rediske can remember wanting to be a dentist since he was 12, and his mother remembers him expressing this desire when he was five! He relates to Hermy the Elf from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer -- he knew he wanted to be a dentist from a very early age. The beauty of being a general dentist is that you can pick and choose what you would like to focus on. Dr. Rediske especially loves working with kids and the surgical aspect of dentistry. Over the course of his career, he's continued to expand his capabilities, and he's excited to now be placing dental implants.
